6 月 29 日，湖北荆州的李女士见一女童头卡防盗窗、双脚悬空，于是爬上外墙当“肉垫”支撑女童。
7 月1日，记者联系上救人者李女士，她称，事发当天，女童被卡防盗网后，大家去敲门发现女童家中无人回应，她直接从外墙爬了上去，用身体托举起女童。大概持续了20分钟后，在两名热心大哥的帮助下，成功地解救了女童。
“我也不知道我哪来的勇气就爬上去了”李女士说道。
事后，女童家长也向李女士表达了感谢。
